Naši dve ESE prostovoljki, Maria in Alex, sta se med 13. in 17. majem udeležili uvodnega usposabljanja za ESE prostovoljce, ki je potekalo v Termah Čatež.
V sklopu usposabljanja sta spoznali druge mednarodne prostovoljce, ki trenutno delujejo po Sloveniji, ter skupaj z njimi sodelovali v različnih aktivnostih, namenjenih medsebojnemu spoznavanju, izmenjavi izkušenj in razmisleku o prostovoljskem delu v novem okolju. Takšna srečanja so pomembna priložnost za povezovanje, podporo in ustvarjanje novih idej za prihodnje sodelovanje med organizacijami in prostovoljci.
Maria in Alex sta svoje doživetje opisali takole:
“We attended the On-Arrival training last week. It was in Terme Čatež, so we were very familiarized with the space. We stayed in one of the hotels and visited around the area, but what we enjoyed the most was the company. We met the other international volunteers working right now in Slovenia, people from all different countries and backgrounds reunited for one project. Through exercises and activities we all got to meet each other, we talked about how we are dealing with the difficulties of being away from home, the different experiences we are having and what we all expect from this new adventure that we are living. It was amazing to create a network of young people who could relate and help each other and who also are as interested as we are in visiting and traveling around Slovenia for the time that we are staying. This also gave us the opportunity to talk about future projects, individual ones but also new ideas for cooperative projects between organisations. We really enjoyed our stay there and we created bonds with new people from all over the world, so we are excited about how the future is gonna be!”
